Pastors’ training equiping and mentoring

We train & equip Local Pastors and Christian leaders to be doctrinally sound, that they may be able to both disciple the flock and reach the unreached with the soundness of the Gospel message, and together participate in the Great Commission. We do this both physically and online.

Training Programs

One of the pillars of our ministry is raising up leaders who are deeply rooted in God’s Word and equipped to serve their communities with faithfulness and integrity. From structured academic programs to contextual pastoral training, God continues to open doors for us to invest in the next generation of church leaders. Here are some of the programs we participate in.

Calvary Chapel Bible College

Since our involvement with Calvary Chapel Bible College, beginning with apologetics classes, we have witnessed the training and graduation of nearly 100 lay pastors and junior pastors. These leaders are now serving faithfully in their local churches, strengthening not only their congregations but also the wider Body of Christ in Kampala and beyond.

In the coming year, we plan to expand this work by training even more pastors through the college. Our vision is to equip leaders who will, in turn, grow healthy local churches across Uganda, fostering deeper discipleship and gospel-centered leadership.

The Shepherd’s Academy

The Shepherd’s Academy is the undergraduate department of the Oxford Centre for Religion and Public Life (OCRPL). For nearly 20 years, OCRPL has served the global church through providing quality theological training, to equip men and women for faithful and effective ministry through providing affordable, accessible, applicable, and accredited training.

In 2025, we partnered with TSA to launch a Study Center in Kampala. Our inaugural cohort enrolled 14 students, who engaged in online Theological Training blended with in-person weekly tutorials. The TSA offers fully online Accredited Certificate, Diploma, and Bachelors programs. Applications are open for our second cohort enrollment which commences January 2026.

Frontier Missions: Lay Pastors & Church Planters Training

Through our partnership with Frontier Missions, we have seen great progress among the Dodoth and Ik people of Kaabong, Karamoja—once considered among the least reached groups with the Gospel. Already, eight rural churches have been planted and over 30 lay pastors trained.

We offer Training support to the FMT by offering Bi-Annual Intensive Theological Training by Extension to Cohorts of Lay Pastors and Church Planters, as well as discipleship opportunities. Our goal is to equip pastors, raise more church planters, and make more disciples so that these communities are reached more effectively with the Gospel .In the coming years, we hope to increase our presence and support in Karamoja, especially in Kaabong.
